PIV Units
A typical PIV installation for heating and air conditioning can take around three days to be completed depending upon multiple factors. However, it really comes down to the system chosen, the system size and the property in which the PIV system is being installed, which can vary the installation time.
A PIV system for large office spaces and multiple floor installations will take longer than a typical residential property.
PIV units are very low maintenance. The only regular maintenance required is to clean the filters every few months and change them every 6-12 months. Other than this, it doesn't require much in the way of maintenance as there are few moving parts.
Before you work with Air+Water, make sure someone is home. You should also keep the work area clean and free of clutter.
PIV units are designed to last for many years; the average guarantee of a PIV unit is 10-15 years, although most will last twice as long.
PIV units are suitable for most homes, including new builds and older properties. However, they are not suitable for homes with very high levels of outdoor air pollution or 'green' homes that are extremely airtight.
Water Filters
A water filter is a household or commercial water treatment product which filters water contaminants from drinking water. Water filters are capable of converting raw, tap water into clean drinking water.
The different types of water filtration systems available are:
- EWT G1 Filter
- EWT Reverse Osmosis Water Filter System
- EWT Fluoride Filter
- EWT Water Cooler
Clean, drinking water can be obtained by installing a water filtration system. Raw, unclean tap water goes into a water filter to become clean and becomes filtered drinking water.
Besides getting clean, filtered drinking water, water filters are able to remove far more water contaminants than any other water purification method. The benefits of using a water filter are as follows:
- Remove water contaminants such as chlorine, dirt sediment, rust, herbicides and pesticides
- More advanced filter systems such as the EWT Reverse Osmosis remove up to 99.9% of all unwanted contaminants
- Costs Much Less than Bottled Water
- Reduce carbon footprint by removing plastic waste
There are many benefits of using a water cooler. Two main benefits of using water coolers are:

- Never drink boiling water!
- Wait for boiled water to cool down before consumption.
- Boiled water removes bacteria from the water.
- Don’t forget to filter your boiled water.
